Turns out, when the local weatherman says there’s a 100% chance of rain, they’re right less than 60% of the time. Dark Sky is ranked as the most accurate weather source to date. It’s able to provide down to the minute forecasts by zip code. (A dormitory at UT has its own Dark Sky forecast.) The app sources information from nine different forecasts, and takes the average. Not only that, but Dark Sky uses crowdsourcing technology similar to Waze, so users can alert others of incoming precipitation.
